Google states all Chromebooks released from 2017 will support Google Play

In an update to the Android Apps compatibility list for Chromebooks, Google have now stated that all Chromebooks released in 2017 will support Android apps through Google Play (eventually).

Several Chromebooks already support this in their beta or dev channels and a long list of Chromebooks are already slated for support to be added in a future update. The new Asus C302 Flip and Samsung Chromebook Plus/Pro support them too.

This is all round good news for schools looking to purchase Chromebooks this year as the chances of buying a model that will not have support for Android apps is now basically nil.
